1st FOSS Conference on Region IX

The STI College Zamboanga together with the Mindanao Open Source Society (MOSS) will be organizing and hosting a 2-day I.T. event dubbed “1^st FOSS CONFERENCE IN REGION IX” on September 21 and 22, 2009 which will be held at 3^rd floor (3G) of STI College Zamboanga. An Open Source I.T. event for Region IX which aims to Promote/Introduce Free Open Source Software (FOSS) and encourage them to join the FOSS community.

Through this affair, we hope to strengthen the unity of all universities, colleges, institutions/schools and some NGO’s/SME’s in Region IX that involve Information Technology. We have all been exposed to a lot of proprietary software and it is high time for us to be oriented about the power and efficiency that Free Open Source Software can offer. Attached herewith is the schedule of the conference.
