Import Blogspot content to your wordpress

My previous blog is on blogger (http://rjian.blogspot.com)and all content are there, when my friend give me this domain and hosting i have to migrate my content on blogger to wordpress. Upon exploring wordpress and searching article on the net for migrating all content on blogger going to wordpress, you don’t need to have a plugin installed on it just to transfer your content. Well here’s a simple step how to migrate your content on blogger going to wordpress.

1. Login your admin wordpress account /wp-admin .

2. On admin go to tools>Import .

3. From the import you will have to choose blogger then follow instructions.

4. Then after the loading, your blogger content has successful transfer including the comments.

Blogger	Import posts, comments, and users from a Blogger blog.
Blogroll	Import links in OPML format.
Blogware	Import posts from Blogware.
Bunny’s Technorati Tags	Import Bunny’s Technorati Tags into WordPress tags.
Categories and Tags Converter	Convert existing categories to tags or tags to categories, selectively.
DotClear	Import categories, users, posts, comments, and links from a DotClear blog.
GreyMatter	Import users, posts, and comments from a Greymatter blog.
Jerome’s Keywords	Import Jerome’s Keywords into WordPress tags.
LiveJournal	Import posts from LiveJournal using their API.
Movable Type and TypePad	Import posts and comments from a Movable Type or Typepad blog.
RSS	Import posts from an RSS feed.

Free Wap Browsing on Globe

Yup, you hear it right you can browse website for free using your Globe Sim on your mobile, but all you have to do is activate your GPRS/MSS and have a Functional bookmarks. Below are the steps after you activate your GPRS/MSS.

1. You’ll need a functional bookmarks like this one : http://ea.amob.com
2. After having the this bookmark when you need to browse another site here’s the trick.
3. just at at the end of the bookmark address @ like http://ea.amob.com@
4. Then after the @ type the address you want to browse: http://ea.ambo.com@www.google.com

That’s all the steps i use and it works on my Nokia 5200. I chat, downloads applications(Games, themes, Video etc.) and check emails on my mobile using my Globe Sim Card.

Note: For faster loading try to browse in the morning and dawn.

Changing Logo on Media Wiki

I’m on research some admin task on media wiki for FOSS Toolkit for SMEs, im also trying to find how the modify the logo on the default installation and i’ve found this tutorial.

The $wgLogo variable specifies which graphical logo is displayed in the top left corner of all mediawiki pages.

Add the following two lines to LocalSettings.php (below the “require” statements):
$wgStylePath   = "/wiki/skins/"; $wgLogo        = "{$wgStylePath}/common/images/wiki.png";
This replaces the default logo in the /wiki/skins/common/images/ directory.

Another option is to direct the $wgStylePath variable to the Upload Directory to be able to exchange the logo by updating uploaded files.

$wgStylePath is usually YOUR_WIKI_FOLDER/wiki/skins.

Note that in the example given, the $wgLogo points to /wiki/skins/common/images/wiki.png with the first part being defined by $wgStylePath. Make sure you have both correct, or $wgLogo will not point to where you think it’s pointing.

Locking Folder in MS XP

To make your folder in private u could be using many software in making them private. But sometime it could be very dangerous when you format your drive which contains the files of the software that could make your secret files into risk…. While this research since mostly computer here are running Windows XP i have to keep my file in private.

Why download a software? When you have it for free. Here is the simplest and the best solution to make your folder private.

Copy the code below in a notepad
on notepad change the text “type your password here” with password you want.
Save this file as locker.bat
Now clink the file Locker.bat
You will see that new folder name “Locker” will appear.
Put your File into it.
Again click on the Locker.bat say yes to continue and you will see that your folder go hidden.
For reappear click again the Locker.bat enter password and your folder will reappear.

Enable/Disable USB Port on Windows XP

On my new job at COMTECH, aside from teaching they put me on the computer laboratory as their maintenance. Lab is installed with Windows XP Home edition and other software but i will be migrating some computer to Edubuntu sooner or later. For the meantime I’ve tweak some on the registry of Windows Enable/Disable the USB port just to control student from inserting the memory stick:

On the registry:
Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentContolSet > Services > USBSTOR

Choose the Start Modify the value data 3 to 4 Hexadecimal

3= Enable
4= Disable
