Zamboanga Goes Mobile – “Open Source Style” A Success
More than 75 participants from Zamboanga Peninsula attended the event, which aims to introduce the Firefox OS and Firefox Marketplace in the Region. Mozilla Philippines team who is present on the event is Mr. Jean Austin Rodriguez, Mr. Kemuel Domanog , Ms. Joyce Domanog , Mr. Robert Reyes and me as the one who organize the event.
Starting with the community meetup event with the first lecturer from Mozilla Philippines, Mr. Jean Austin Rodriguez who introduce Mozilla, Mozilla latest products, tool and innovation.

He is a graduate from Colegio De San De Letran(Calamba, Laguna) with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Currently working at Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation as full time System Administrator.He is active contributor in Free and Open Source Community and strongly support the open web Project. Active contributor in Ubuntu Bug Squad and a Mozilla Representative.
Currently with Mozilla Philippines, he is the team lead of engagement and webmaker projet. He will be talking about Mozilla in the Philippines and Firefox for Android.
Zamboanga Goes Mobile – “Open Source Style”
After the successful event of Firefox OS Apps Day in Manila, last January 28, 2013. The Mozilla Philippines community organized another mobile event dubbed “Zamboanga Goes Mobile- Open Source Style” which aims to introduce Mozilla project and the new Firefox OS in Zamboanga Peninsula with the expected participants of 100-150 ranging from student developer, professional developer and I.T. Enthusiast who is interested to know about the new mobile project of Mozilla.
As an event of Mozilla Philippines Community, official Mozilla Representative will be going to Zamboanga City as guest lecturer to discuss topic such as Firefox for Android, Firefox OS and Firefox Marketplace.
The Firefox OS is a new operating system developed by Mozilla’s Boot to Gecko (B2G) project. It is a linux-based open source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers; it is designed to allow HTML5 applications to integrate directly with the device hardware using Javascript. Firefox OS also uses open web technologies stack.

Gov. Alvarez St. Fronting La Merced Veterans on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Mozilla Campus Tour in Universidad De Zamboanga
We have an awesome! Mozilla Campus tour project in Universidad De Zamboanga (UZ) yesterday, More than 70 students from IT Department attended the event which was held at IMC in Universidad De Zamboanga Main Campus.
Me as Mozilla Representative (PHL) Introduce the Mozilla project to the crowd, products, Localization effort and Mozilla presence in the Philippines. One of the Mozilla Student Representative Mr. Oniel Nick Paira shares his experience being a student representative and how to contribute to Chavacano Localization.
The event started around 9:00AM and ended around 12:00 noon with a group picture talking from the participants.
